The Team
Matt Johnson
Matt Johnson is a career insurance operator with deep experience spanning financial reporting, product strategy, and enterprise growth. He served as Chief Actuary and VP of Strategy & Platform Enablement at a mid-size Midwestern carrier, where he owned platform strategy, capital allocation, and board-level communications.
Prior to founding FXe, Matt spent years watching carriers lose market share not because of their people or their products, but because their technology couldn't keep up. At FXe, Matt brings an operator's perspective to every product and go-to-market decision — ensuring the platform is built around how carriers actually work.
Bill Butters
Bill Butters is the lead developer and technical architect of FXe. With decades of experience solving carrier challenges through technology, Bill has built systems that sit at the intersection of underwriting, operations, and distribution.
At his prior carrier, Bill led the design and development of a modern buying and underwriting platform that became a material driver of growth — helping enable rapid iteration, improved quality of business, and dramatically higher sales volume. Bill brings a rare combination of deep technical expertise and real-world carrier experience, ensuring FXe Orchestrator is designed for speed, configurability, and production-grade reliability.
Dave Keith
Dave Keith serves as a Strategic Advisor to FXe, bringing decades of executive leadership and platform-building experience in the insurance industry.
Earlier in his career, Dave co-founded SE2 and helped build the company from the ground up into a leading annuity administration and outsourcing platform. He has extensive experience launching and scaling technology-enabled insurance businesses, working closely with carriers, distributors, and partners across the annuity and life markets.
Todd Nevenhoven
Todd Nevenhoven is an Operating Advisor to FXe with deep experience leading operations at both large carriers and third-party administrators (TPAs).
Throughout his career, Todd has built, scaled, and modernized operational teams supporting underwriting, policy administration, and customer service across multiple insurance lines. At FXe, Todd brings an operator's lens to platform implementation and client delivery — ensuring growth is supported by operational models that work in the real world.
